Run ProbeSetup-<version>.exe — accept the UAC prompt
→ If Windows SmartScreen still warns you, click “More info” then “Run anyway”. This goes away as the signature builds reputation.
Step through the installer — defaults are fine
Allow firewall access when Windows prompts, for both private and public networks
The proxy starts automatically on launch and configures your system proxy. You'll see your IP and port in the app toolbar.
Later versions arrive through Probe's built-in updater, which checks for them by itself.

Open the downloaded DMG file
Drag Probe.app to your Applications folder
Launch Probe from Applications
The proxy starts automatically. You'll see your IP and port in the app toolbar.
Certificate Installation
To inspect HTTPS traffic, install and trust the Probe Root CA certificate on each device. The certificate is served at the CA URL shown in the app (e.g. http://<your-ip>:9098).
Open the CA URL in your browser (e.g. http://192.168.1.x:9098)
Your browser downloads the certificate as a .crt file
Double-click the downloaded file — it opens Keychain Access
Find the “Probe Root CA (…)” certificate in the login keychain
Double-click it, expand “Trust”, set to “Always Trust”
Close and enter your password to confirm
Open the CA URL in your browser (e.g. http://192.168.1.x:9098)
Your browser downloads the certificate as a .crt file
Double-click the downloaded file → click “Install Certificate”
Select “Local Machine” → click “Next”
Select “Place all certificates in the following store”
